NOTICE: all those missions starting by DIII New Story are part of an alternate complete different story of what you know when playing DIII the first time. It is not "new" in the sense "following DIII" but it's "new" in the sense "an alternate story in a parallel universe". Hence, every characters meet for the first time in different places and contexts, led by another plot between different protagonists having different roles than in the original DIII story.
After Hector and Doc took care of the men planning an ambush at Byers Pass while John and Kate were keeping an eye on Frank, the gang quickly arrived back in Flagstone.
Once they stopped in town, Hector runs to find a horse to not lose time going back to O'Hara's Ranch, saying that John and Kate could give his part of the reward later.
So, Doc and Cooper now are bringing Frank into the Sheriff office, with John holding Frank by a rope in front of him.
But as soon as they both entered the saloon, they got knocked out from behind.
From outside, Kate hears some noise coming from the knocks given to Cooper and Doc, decides to get closer to the door so she can listen a bit of what's happening, before maybe entering or not. She quickly understands that her 2 friends have been neutralized and that it would not be a good idea to get inside alone. She keeps on listening and she is able to hear that they will be sent to a DeVitt goldmine. The men who stopped John and Doc, along with Frank, are saying that these two bounty hunters are really creating some trouble for them now. By sending those two to the mine, they will get some time to decide what to do with them later.
Then, like Hector, Kate gets a horse and ride to her uncle's ranch to inform Hector of what just happened and to use his help once again.

To sneak into the mine, Kate decides to be disguised as a courtesan. As for Hector, he looks like a random mine worker.
Both of them managed to enter the goldmine at the same time as other workers, but they are separated.
Kate is busy charming a worker on the west side, whereas Hector is on the east side after he left the group of miners that was around him when he sneaked in.
Now that they are inside, the plan is to first go to the south end of the mine to help Doc retrieve his equipment.
When the 3 of them will be reunited, they must find a cart full of gunpowder and bring it with them as they move towards the entrance.
Only Hector is strong enough to move the cart that Kate has found close from where she is now, on the west side of the mine.
Before exploding the gate with a shot of his sniper rifle, Doc must pick up the lock of the cell where Cooper is.
- With Kate and Hector, help Doc retrieve his stuff
- With Doc, free John
- With Hector, bring the cart full of gunpowder close to the entry gate
- With Doc, shoot the cart to explode the gate
- No Alarm: nobody must notice that Cooper and Doc are being rescued.
- Try to keep the number of kills as low as possible.
Doc can't tie up enemies. As he starts the mission without equipment, it won't be logical if he could do that.
